Visual Arts at the Market introduces two-dimensional visual artists to Kentucky Crafted: The Market, the annual wholesale/retail event coordinated by the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program. Visual Arts at the Market is comprised of artists who applied and were selected by a panel of artists and wholesale buyers. Artists were selected based upon the artistic excellence of the work and the suitability of the work for the wholesale and retail markets. Artists may find out more about applying to the Visual Arts at the Market program on the Kentucky Arts Council Web site (artscouncil.ky.gov), or may contact Amber Luallen, Individual Artist Program Director, 888-833-2787, or email her at [email protected].

Kentucky Crafted: The Market is in its 24th year of operation and has offerings for both buyers for stores and the general public. Over 300 juried artists and craftspeople will be represented at the 2005 Market which features fine traditional, folk, and contemporary art and craft. Serving as a showcase of Kentucky's finest artists and products, the Market will also feature children's craft activities, and a stage with wonderful musical performances, food and craft demonstrations, and book signings. Other offerings for sale include specialty food products, musical recordings, and books.

Kentucky Crafted: The Market will be held March 3 - March 6, 2005 in South Wing A of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville. The Market is open to the public on Saturday, March 5, (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) and Sunday, March 6, (10:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Admission is $8.00 for adults, FREE for children 15 and under. Wholesale buyers may register online, or contact the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program at (502) 564-8076, toll free 888-KY CRAFT, or email [email protected] for information on attending the wholesale sessions on March 3 - 4.
