A Message from the Governor and First Lady for the
Kentucky Visions 2004 Art Exhibit

We are honored to host, as it celebrates its eighth year, the Kentucky Visions 2004 exhibit. We are delighted to open our home to the wonderful people of this great Commonwealth and abroad to offer them the opportunity to discover the rich heritage and diversity of visual arts found throughout Kentucky.

This year, we are pleased to welcome a number of artists who are familiar to this showcase. Artists included in this year's exhibit were invited to participate based upon their previous selections for Kentucky Visions exhibits. The exhibit has dramatically grown over the past several years as we continue to celebrate the quality and craftsmanship of these outstanding Kentucky artists in conjunction with the unparalleled tradition and pageantry of the Kentucky Derby. The Kentucky Visions 2004 exhibition showcases the diversity of art forms and media in which Kentucky artists are working and includes paintings, drawings, black & white and color photography, ceramics, woven baskets, turned wood, and fiber art.

Our sincere thanks go to the artists who have graciously allowed their work to be exhibited. Special recognition goes to the Kentucky Arts Council for their work in coordinating this wonderful event and for supporting and promoting Kentucky artists throughout the year.
