ARTIST'S STATEMENTOccasionally when I see archaic objects from different cultures, I feel that they come from the same place in the human spirit. There is a shared knowledge that grows out of an instinct to survive. So what we call beauty is expressed according to tide of the time. In other words, I think we may have a universal consciousness or instinct about beauty that is at least partially derived from function. I wanted to see in my project something lively and energetic that has been handed down from our ancestors. My task is to give new form to mysterious old things by changing, symbolizing, deconstructing and reconstructing. |
